SEVENTEEN made history as they brought their world tour to Florida for the very first time, lighting up the Amerant Bank Arena with two nights of unforgettable performances. Carats, the name of SEVENTEEN’s fandom, filled the venue with excitement and energy, especially for the group’s long-awaited Miami stop.

The thirteen-member boy group, S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino, debuted on May 26, 2015, with their first mini album 17 CARAT. Since then, they’ve grown to 16.3 million followers on Instagram and 16.1 million subscribers on YouTube. They’re known for their tracks such as “HOT” (over 276 million streams on Spotify) and “Super” (over 290 million streams on Spotify), along with their latest album release HAPPY BURSTDAY.

Nine members of the thirteen, S.Coups, Joshua, Jun, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino, were present as four members, Jeonghan, Wonwoo, Woozi, and Hoshi, were absent due to their mandatory military service required by Korean law.

However, that did not change the outstanding experience SEVENTEEN brought, performing new singles, old singles, fan favorites, and even solo stages that showcased each member’s style.

Miami Carats came fully prepared with high energy. Since K-pop concerts rarely reach the southern region, this stop was a highlight for many fans and a moment they’d long been waiting for.

Arena Experience

On the second day of SEVENTEEN’s Miami stop, October 27, Amerant Bank Arena had cute activities where fans could get a temporary emoji tattoo of their bias emoji, along with a writing station to send out fan letters to SEVENTEEN.

The entire experience was smooth and stress-free. From parking and getting merch to the kind staff and quick entry, where fans were even allowed inside before doors opened, everything ran seamlessly. Leaving the venue was just as easy, adding to the overall positive experience.

The Show Begins

The arena lights dimmed, and the first beat of “Bad Influence (Prod. by Pharrell Williams)” sounded through the arena, followed by screams as the first members of SEVENTEEN showed up on the big screen. It was an iconic intro as they took turns appearing and being featured on the screen, as dancers also filled the stage, adding to the opening.

The build-up led to them being centered on the main stage on a lift, kicking things off with high energy and screams as they performed “HBD,” followed by their title track “THUNDER” from their recent album HAPPY BURSTDAY.

The setlist included fan favorites such as “Domino,” “F*ck My Life,” “Darl+ing,” and “LOVE, MONEY, FAME (feat. DJ Khaled),” as well as older tracks from their discography like “A-TEEN,” “9-TEEN,” and “20.”

There were also two special solos apart from their solo performances, one by DK before “Rock with you”, where he showcased the drumming skills he practiced for the tour, and a solo dance by Dino, kicking off the energy for “HOT”.

Solo Stages: Showcasing Their Artistry

For many fans, the solo stages were a major highlight of the tour, each one showcasing a different side of SEVENTEEN’s artistry, style, and personality.

Dino Solo

Kicking off the solos was the youngest member of SEVENTEEN, Dino, with his solo track “Trigger,” bringing out a retro vibe as the arena lit up in red and he rose onto the stage in an all-black suit.

Sparks flickered, starting off his track, followed by an eruption of screams. It’s no doubt that the retro vibe is Dino’s element, especially when he had the opportunity to show off his charisma through his dance moves and an incredible high note. And of course, it would not be a Dino performance without an iconic solo dance break from him.

Jun Solo

The transition from Dino to Jun’s performance was so beautiful. Both of them were lifted on a platform, the screen splitting images of their separate concepts for their solos as they stood on different ends, being brought back down standing back to back before Dino left the stage for Jun.

Jun’s solo performance, “Gemini,” was majestic and cinematic, from his entrance and lavender attire to his vocals and dance performance. The confetti continued falling after his high note, and as the song reached its ending, it felt like a storytelling performance.

Vernon Solo

The lights immediately cut off, bringing out Vernon with his ultimate vibes, wearing a Simpsons tee shirt and showing off his electric guitar skills for “Shining Star”. The performance carried an early 2000s pop-rock, alternative vibe that suited him perfectly.

It felt as if fans were listening to the studio version, with his live vocals sounding nearly identical. It truly gave rockstar vibes, and it was a cute moment when he changed the lyrics just for Sunrise, saying, Sunrise, you are my shooting star.

Joshua Solo

With the second set of solos, Joshua kicked it off by bringing a slower, more romantic touch with his single “Fortunate Change,” sitting on the lift on a wooden bench in a pastel yellow suit jacket, with a white and black city in the background.

It was a performance that felt cozy and sweet as the city behind him began to light up in color and flowers. As he stood and walked off the lift, his gentle vocals carried through the arena. Joshua’s natural warmth fit the romantic concept perfectly, closing the performance with a shower of confetti.

DK Solo

As the confetti continued to fall, DK took over the stage, starting with a bright city background that matched his smile, followed by an acoustic guitar as he was lifted on a lift while performing “Happy Virus.”

And it did, in fact, feel like he carried a happy virus with him because you couldn’t help but smile as you watched him take in the stage. DK’s vocals are incredible live, and the performance carried that early 2000s happy-ending movie energy as the yellow confetti flew and his vocals filled the stage, ending with him giving Carats a heart.

Seungkwan Solo

Ending the second set was Seungkwan, sitting at a white piano in a gray suit, with a dark background resembling the title of his solo “Raindrops,” performing a piano version as everyone hushed to listen to him sing. There was something so touching about his performance.

The arena chanted his name over and over mid-performance before he started pouring his heart out on stage. The emotion and feeling in each note made you feel the song deeply, especially as he stood at the climax, giving his all in his vocals. Screams followed from the chills of experiencing such a performance live.

The8 Solo

The final set of solos was kicked off by The8, bringing us electronic vibes through his single “Skyfall,” with a heavenly instrumental sound as the stage lit up in purple followed by flashing white lights that matched the beat as they flashed on him, highlighting him on the lift.

It was a performance that highlighted both his vocals and dance skills, really matching his vibe, especially considering his last solo release, “Orbit (轨道) (feat. JinJiBeWater_隼).” The whole performance was immersive, with flashing lights and Carats yelling out “aye, aye, aye” during his dance breaks, hyping him up even more.

Mingyu Solo

Following flashing white lights, the arena erupted in screams as Mingyu’s face took over the screens, along with the “aye, aye, aye” chants to the beat of “Shake It Off.” Wearing a long, shiny black coat and sunglasses, there’s no denying his stage presence.

It was such an iconic moment when the beat dropped for “Shake It Off,” as he catwalked down the stage with effortless confidence. His performance radiated cool charisma, even in his dance moves, ending with a mini rave moment and fans once again chanting “aye, aye, aye.”

S.Coups Solo

The transition into the final solo stood out as one of the most memorable moments of the show. The audio mixed seamlessly, bringing out the leader of SEVENTEEN, S.Coups, already sitting on the stairs in the middle of the main stage, ready to perform “Jungle.

The performance brought massive screams and a full burst of energy. It was a stage that reflected that cool vibe S.Coups carries and his rap style, with fire bursts and heavy beats adding to the energy.

Unforgettable Interactions

Something that really stood out was the way SEVENTEEN interacts with Carats. Throughout the concert, there were multiple interactive moments. One of them was when they took requests from fans shouting out songs that weren’t on the setlist and sang parts of them together, including “Don’t Wanna Cry,” “To you”, and “Kidult.”

There was also a dance battle moment where fans could dance to a song of their choice and be seen on the big screen, even leading to a duo battle between two fans and Dino and Seungkwan.

Apart from those interactions, there was a fun Carat time super dance break featuring DJ Bongbongie, mascot of the K-pop group SEVENTEEN and their fandom, where light sticks moved as fans danced. A few lucky fans even got to be featured on the big screen.

Mini Mash Up Ending

Something really nice about this tour was a mini mash-up of other songs, diving further into their discography, where Carats got to hear bits of different tracks such as “CALL CALL CALL!” and “Super.”

The mash-up also included snippets of subunit songs, featuring CxM, the duo of Mingyu and S.Coups, from their first mini album HYPE VIBES, with a dance break to their track “Worth It,” along with all the members jamming out to “5,4,3 (Pretty Woman) (Feat. Lay Bankz).” Fans also got to enjoy “Fighting (파이팅 해야지) (Feat. Lee Young Ji),” a track from the subunit BSS featuring Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi, showcasing another of SEVENTEEN’s dynamic units.

Ending it off with the tradition of “VERY NICE,” an encore of high energy repeating “Aju Nice” while jumping around, finishing with “_WORLD,” it was a touching moment where Carats’ voices filled the arena alongside SEVENTEEN’s.

Until Next Time

Sunrise holds the hope to see SEVENTEEN once again in Miami and the promise to wait for them until their return.
